The City and Borough of Sitka is closely monitoring the Novel Corona Virus 2019 or COVID-19. Though most of us feel fine, it is of the utmost importance that we emphasize prevention and community mitigation in order to prevent and slow the spread of the virus in our community.

It is important that the City continue to provide the essential services to the community with healthy employees. The Centers for Disease Control has advised that social distancing is extremely important, however we want to make sure that the public is staying engaged with the business of our elected officials.

There are going to be some challenges along the way as we are working through uncharted territory, however we want the public to be confident that we are working closely with local, state, and national partners to ensure the safety of our community.

We encourage you to continue to follow the CDC’s recommendations along with the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services by referencing many of the links on this page.
