Alaska Vaccine Allocation Advisory Committee meets to take public testimony on Phase 1c

The Alaska Vaccine Allocation Advisory Committee (AVAAC) is meeting at 4 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 11 to take public testimony on Phase 1c. This is a chance to have your opinions heard on the next group to become eligible for COVID-19 vaccine after Alaskans in Phases 1a and 1b have adequate opportunity to get vaccinated (looking ahead weeks or months from now).

We encourage and look forward to hearing public comments.

CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) has recommended that Phase 1c include persons aged 65–74 years, persons aged 16–64 years with high-risk medical conditions, and other essential workers. Because Alaska has already included Alaskans 65 years of age and most essential workers in Phase 1b, AVAAC and DHSS are proposing that Phase 1c include persons aged 16-49 years of age with high-risk medical conditions as well as any additional essential workers.
